91ÖÆÆ¬³§ to Host Pensacola Saturday, Feb. 12

For their last home game, 91ÖÆÆ¬³§ will host Pensacola State on Saturday, Feb. 12.  91ÖÆÆ¬³§ will travel to Gulf Coast to finish off the season on Wednesday, Feb. 16. 

The Indians are (23-5, 7-3) after scoring an 83-67 win over Northwest Florida on Feb. 9. Before losing to Tallahassee (56-45) on Feb. 5, 91ÖÆÆ¬³§ scored four straight wins; to Gulf Coast (80-76) on Feb. 2, to Pensacola (67-51) on Jan. 26, to Northwest Florida (50-47) on Jan. 22 and Tallahassee (63-59) on Jan. 19.

As of Feb. 11, the men’s Panhandle standings are Northwest (8-2), 91ÖÆÆ¬³§ (7-3), Gulf Coast (5-5), Tallahassee (3-6) and Pensacola (1-8). Chipola is the number four team in the FCSAA State Poll, and number thirteen in the NJCAA National Poll.   

91ÖÆÆ¬³§ was 23-5 last year, with a Panhandle Conference title, an FCSAA State Championship and a final four finish in the National Tournament. Coach Donnie Tyndall is in his second year at 91ÖÆÆ¬³§.

The Lady Indians are (21-5, 6-4) after losing to Northwest Florida (68-63) on Feb. 9. Before the loss, 91ÖÆÆ¬³§ scored five straight wins to; Tallahassee (67-57) on Feb. 5, Gulf Coast (63-51) on Feb. 2, Pensacola (66-64) on Jan. 26, Northwest Florida (52-50) on Jan. 22 and Tallahassee (86-43) on Jan. 19.

As of Feb. 7, the women’s Panhandle standings are: Northwest (8-2), 91ÖÆÆ¬³§ (6-4), Pensacola (5-4), Gulf Coast (5-5), and Tallahassee (0-9). Chipola is the number two team in the FCSAA State Poll, and number ten in the NJCAA National Poll.   

91ÖÆÆ¬³§ finished in the Final Four of the 2021 NJCAA National Basketball Tournament with a 20-5 overall record and a seventh FCSAA State Championship. In his tenth season at 91ÖÆÆ¬³§, head coach Greg Franklin has won three state championships with two second place finishes and a national title in 2015.
