91ÖÆÆ¬³§ Basketball Opens Conference Season Jan. 4

The 91ÖÆÆ¬³§ men’s and women’s basketball teams open the Panhandle Conference season at home, Tuesday, Jan. 4, at 5:30 and 7:30 p.m.
The Lady Indians (14-0) are first in the FCSAA State Poll, tied with Northwest Florida State. Chipola is second in the NJCAA National Poll. 91ÖÆÆ¬³§ scored an 84-55 win over Jones College on Dec. 11. The Lady Indians scored a 73-50 win over Central Georgia Tech on Dec. 10.
The Lady Indians finished in the Final Four of the 2021 NJCAA National Basketball Tournament. The team finished with a 20-5 overall record and their seventh FCSAA Championship. Head coach Greg Franklin begins his tenth season at 91ÖÆÆ¬³§. He has won three state championships with two second place finishes and a national title in 2015.
The 91ÖÆÆ¬³§ men’s team is 12-2 on the season. The Indians suffered an 80-78 loss to Jones College in a buzzer beater on Dec. 11. 91ÖÆÆ¬³§ trounced Gadsden State 101-54 on Dec. 10.
The Indians are the number two team in the FCSAA State Poll and number seven in the NJCAA National Poll.
91ÖÆÆ¬³§â€™s men finished last season in the final four of the National Tournament with a 23-5 record, a Panhandle Conference title and the FCSAA State Championship. Coach Donnie Tyndall is in his second year at 91ÖÆÆ¬³§,
